Goalkeeper Technical Staff

Eddie Torres comes to BCSC from Idaho Rush. Eddie worked with the older GK's for Rush as Professional GK trainer and has also participated in training with the California South Youth Soccer scene over the past 10 years. We are excited to have Eddie working with our older GK's focusing on positional/functional roles of the GK within the team/tactical aspect(s).

Liz Ruiz joins the program coming off one of the most successful years in Boise State Women's Soccer history, with a program best in record wins, first WAC Championship, and first NCAA DI Women's National Championship tournament appearance in 2009. A former Capital who garnered two state titles, Liz was an SIC DIII Player of the Year winner with Capitol High School. She will be working with the U13 through U16 GK's this spring. Megan Blanchard joins the red and black coming from a very highly competitive environment in the California Youth Soccer Association - North. Megan also competes on the Boise State University Women's team with a program best in wins, first WAC Championship, and first NCAA DI Women's National Championship tournament appearance in 2009. Goalkeeper Training Program
|

The Boise Capital SC has a comprehensive goalkeeper development program. We offer specialized training for the following age groups:
- U9-10 Youth League: offered on select Fridays in conjunction with Academy Plus
- U11-12 Select: daily access with a minimum of one session per week
- U13-19 Select and Premier: daily access with a minimum of two sessions per week

Principles of Training and Evaluation:
|
|
Warm-Up:
- Agility-based movement, dynamic stretching, and mobility exercises
- Footwork
- Core development
- Technical teaching and reinforcement
- Age and position-specific strength and power development
|
|
Active Training:
- Topical training sessions to follow evaluation criteria - in line with warm up activity
- Training to match individual and team training needs
|
|
Team Training Contacts:
- Active coaching within sessions consistent with training topics when staffing allows.
|
|
Evaluation Process:
Boise Capital SC has an age specific goalkeeper curriculum and we work to provide our goalkeepers with appropriate feedback on a regular basis. This involved match evaluations, in-season evaluations (formal and informal) and end-of-season evaluations and placement recommendations.
